Based in San Francisco since 1935, Wo Chong is a family-owned business producing Non-GMO tofu, pristine bean sprouts, and other delicious soy products.
Wo Chong is the largest and oldest family-run manufacturer of tofu and bean sprouts in Northern California. Since their beginning in 1935, they have continued to grow their business each and every year. The secret behind the success is their exquisite and unique recipe for making their well-known tofu, which has been with the family for over 80 years and continues to be used to this day. Wo Chong always uses the highest quality ingredients and follows the strictest food safety standards when manufacturing their various products. They have now expanded manufacturing to include organic tofu. In addition to that, Wo Chong also grows fresh bean sprouts, soy bean sprouts, clover sprouts, and onion sprouts.
Owner and entrepreneur, Gin Louie, began producing tofu and bean sprouts in 1935 in the basement of his 500 square-foot store in the middle of Chinatown. They continued to make tofu and bean sprouts at this location until they outgrew it due to its popularity and moved manufacturing to a larger location in the late 1950s, and then once again in the 1970s to its current location in a 48,000 square-foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the South of Market area of San Francisco.
